Color Your World - Hot Magenta

Hot Magenta is the perfect time to paint the Pink and Black Attack, Catalya!

This week’s colour is Hot Magenta, and in my mind, the Hart Dynasty in wrestling is permanently linked to pink. And this model combines Natalya Neidhart (Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart’s daughter, and Bret Hart’s niece) with a cat! So that’s right up my alley! The photo was taken on my phone, because I couldn’t find the energy to get my camera and get the settings done for it, because I’ve been ill lately and wanted to get the photo taken asap.

I have however been messing with my camera a little, playing with Exposure times and F Stops to get the best quality photos from my camera, because I’ve been noticing a lot of photos have a very narrow focal range, which I’ve been able to correct by changing the F Stop.

F Stop 8, ISO 200, 1/30 - These were the settings I used to keep the model in focus from the front of the hair/claw to the back paw. You’ll notice the photo at the top of the page has the front paw out of focus.

The blue foam of my model case has a nice shimmer to it, which I think goes well with Catalya’s jacket and top. Those sections (and the straps on her leg) are painted using a few different colour shift paints from Valejo and TurboDork. I used 4 different paints, so they always have a different tone no matter what angle you look at her from.
