Miscellaneous March Recap
Continuing my themed months for the hobby, and giving that I missed half of the month with being on holiday, I took the chance to paint some scenery pieces I’ve had staring at me for a while (and by no means is it the end of that specific pile.)
I painted these with Fallout Wasteland Warfare in mind. The crates are part of the Maxmini Orc Loot Marker set, and the Little Boy bomb is from Tiny Furniture. Both of these sets I’ve painted parts of previously, strangely enough, also for Fallout Wasteland Warfare. On the crates, I freehand painted some Gunners symbols onto some of the metal panels, as I think it would make sense for them to be hording a stockpile of ammo and bombs, and also it be target for other groups to steal. I also added a little reference to The Children of Atom on the yellow barrel, by adding a design that they use on their banners, as though the Gunners have stole some oil barrels and a barrel of nuclear material from a CoA site. The Little Boy bomb has L-11 as a designation, which was the designation for the bomb dropped on Hiroshima, August 6th, 1945.
I’ve decorated my Dinogas Station with some of the Tiny Furniture Car Service set. There is more that I’d love to fit in there, in particular the Car Lifts but to get them to fit, I’ll have to do a little editing to shorten the arms that hold the vehicle. Failing that, I’m thinking of making a floor piece that I can place them on.
Another look into the Dinogas Station, where we get a better look at the Wheel Balance machine, the Oil Drain and the Air Compressor. We also get a better look at the TippOil branding on the oil barrel, inspired by the old Castrol branding I remember seeing in some of the garages around my town growing up.
In the garage of one of the TTCombat houses I have (this exact one is no longer made, but linked is a new version which is essentially a mirror image of it, with a better roof), I’ve put together this little display! The workbench is from the Car Service set, but I’ve got it teamed up with some of the Workbench with tools set. I glued the tool panel to the wall at a height that works with this bench and also the Gunsmith Workshop bench.
Here is a better look at the Maxmini Combat Bike which I painted to look similar to the Lone Wanderer model of bikes you see in the Fallout games, although this one has two machineguns on the front, but ignore those!
Here are a couple better photos of the Combat Bike. I used a Satin varnish on the seat and tyres, with a gloss varnish on the metalwork and the bodywork.

To get a better look at these images, you can click the photos for a pop-out image. Take a look at the Car Service set and some of the Workbench with Tools stuff, too. I really like the rolling chests and the metal toolbox that matches them. They’re the kind of tool chests I’d only seen in films, or in Machine Mart as I’d go past. There’s a smaller tool box which I painted black, red and white, because it looks very similar to a tool box we have in the house. The blue and red car doors are painted using metallic paints, with the blue one being a Pearlescent Blue which gives it a nice purple tint in the light. The red is a Pearl paint which has a really nice shine. These were both painted with Mission Models paints.
Here are a few of the pieces from the Gunsmith Workshop including a workbench with an AK47 being worked on in a clamp, and an M4A1 in pieces, with a Red Dot Sight and Laser Sight to the side. A Reloading Tool bolted onto the table, ready to make ammo. Two targets ready to test the ammo, display boards (the blank one is from the Workbench with Tools set), featuring Shotguns, Assault Rifles and handguns. Then there’s the Gun locker, with a case of shotgun shells on top. Inside are AK47s, M4A1s and a Winchester M70. I have some handguns and magazines to paint, and some of them will probably make their way into here, adorning the shelves.
Now that Miscellaneous March is complete, I can look forward to Aprilien - where I’ll be painting Alien-style models, including a bunch of Papsikels 3D printed models, and Black Site Studios’ Violent Dark.
Miscellaneous March is complete, and here’s a look at what I got done, painting a range of scenery pieces from Maxmini and Tiny Furniture!
