SepTemplar
Crusading Through The Year
So that means we need the SepTemplars! September was dedicated to painting Vatican models from Carnevale, by TTCombat. I painted a bunch of armoured crusaders, an Altar Boy, Executioner and an Inquisitioner. I also made a painting tutorial for using coloured metallics to paint the Extreme Knight Captain! Let’s take a look.
Burning Saint
The Burning Saint is an absolute beast to have in your team. The potential to deal 6 damage to an enemy without even raising their sword, through their Walk Through The Flames ability, which deals 3 damage to enemies within 3” at any point of their turn, then another 3 damage to anyone within 3” at the end of the round. That’s a lot of damage for 1 AP. This model is the Kings of the Adriatic version.
Knights Hospitaller
These models are from the Knights Hospitaller set, which is a full gang ready to go! It contains the two Knights of Malta, who I painted in their red gear, with the white Malta Cross. This was one of the uniforms they wore in their early crusade involvement. The Knight Commander sports his Templar cross on his tabard, and is the team’s leader option. Accompanied by the Paladin of St Lazarus. Really, I should have given him a green cross on his knee, as the green cross was the symbol for that order, but instead I tied him in to the Hospitallers. The Maltese Squire provides ranged support with her crossbow.
Venator of Devotion
The Venator of Devotion models are alternate sculpts. The blonde model was part of a Kickstarter, the same one which gave us the first team from The Keep in Rumbleslam, and the second sculpt, sitting on a Raadru, is an event exclusive model. Both them them are available during events, either at the event, or online. The second sculpt, I wanted to make her look a bit like That Girl From Avalon, a Canadian girl who practices sword fighting and wears some badass plate armour. She loves her Arturian legends, and I wanted to add her into my might crusade!
The Vatican
These are the other models from the Vatican starter gang, with the two priests being painted a while ago, when I did the weathered leather tutorial, showcasing the TTCombat paints.
Extreme Knight Commander
An absolute beauty of a model. Less of a game piece, more of a show piece, I have this in my model case along with the Bust and Soviet I painted in February, and the Liberty Prime model. Want to know how I painted it?
